“It’s only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth – and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up – that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had.”
- Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Initial Phone Consultation

In order to schedule your 15 minute-phone consultation, please send me an email or contact me by telephone at 267-314-7814.

The purpose of the phone consultation is for me to hear a bit about your concerns and current situation. I will ask you some questions over the phone, and you will have an opportunity to have any questions answered. We will discuss fees and scheduling. At the end of the phone consultation, I will provide you with information for next steps. If we determine we might be a good fit, I will email you my practice paperwork.

Research has shown that a good therapeutic relationship is an important predictor of treatment success. I encourage my patients to consider whether they feel comfortable with me as a therapist. If your needs do not align with my expertise, I will help connect you with another provider in the community who is better suited to help.

Prior to your first Appointment

I will email you a standard intake packet via our secure online Simple Practice system. The packet includes the intake questionnaire and consent forms. I require completing these before scheduling our first appointment so that I have sufficient time to review them in advance of our meeting.

First Session

During the first session we will review the information from the phone consultation and standard intake packet. You’ll be given more time to talk about your concerns, goals for treatment, and your background. In this session I will share my impressions and recommendations. We will then put together a personalized plan for treatment and schedule a time for regular ongoing sessions.

Ongoing Sessions

Ongoing therapy sessions are 50 minutes. I typically see patients once a week or bi weekly, and the overall duration of your treatment will depend on the nature of your presenting problems and treatment goals. We will decide together on a course of treatment, and will discuss how long that is likely to take. I believe it is important to continuously monitor progress toward your goals, and to reevaluate treatment duration if necessary.

I prefer to set a recurring appointment time; however, if you are unable to schedule on a regular basis at the same time weekly due to an irregular schedule, I will do my best to work with you to accommodate your schedule. More or less frequent sessions can be arranged, as can longer appointment times.
